Friday afternoon, Sarah Martin was pronounced dead after her Jeep Cherokee rolled over in a one-vehicle crash. Ms. Martin and her 14 year-old son were not wearing seatbelts. Her son was flown to a regional hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While seatbelts are critical, rollover accidents are incredibly dangerous even for vehicle occupants who are seatbelted. Rollovers require investigation to determine whether defects of the vehicle caused the crash or the injuries. For example, roof crush injuries are preventable when vehicles are designed to withstand rollovers. In a case like this, the general crashworthiness of a vehicle must be determined to make sure that it was not the cause of the injuries.
The attorneys of Jones Ward PLC are currently litigating cases against vehicle manufacturers for defective vehicles that caused serious injury and even death. If you wish to discuss a vehicle defect case, please call Corey Ann Finn at (502) 882-6000 or send her an e-mail at email@example.com.
