A man died in a car wreck in Metcalfe County, Kentucky today. A young girl was also injured. The crash occurred along US Highway 68 about five miles west of Edmonton.
Investigators said that Floyd Lowe, 52, was heading westbound on the highway when he lost control, striking an embankment.
His vehicle overturned and was struck by a vehicle driven by Kendon Horton, 32.
Horton was taken to TJ Samon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, Cassie Horton, 12, was airlifted to Kosair Children's Hospital.
Both of the Hortons were wearing their seat belts.
Jones Ward attorney Larry Jones says, "Every day Kentuckians lose their lives in automobile accidents. While one family is left without a family member tonight, another family can be thankful that a seatbelt saved a little girl's life."
